Ho percorso centinaia di volte questo sentiero di collina fiancheggiato da file di cipressi che erano là fin da quando ero un bambino. Ma ogni volta che incrocio questa piccola strada l’emozione che mi assale è sempre uguale, identica a tanti anni fa, quando vedevo per la prima volta le torri spuntare dalla roccia seminascoste dalle cime dei cipressi, tra grovigli di rovi e piante rampicanti.
Per catturare questa scena ho usato come supporto una piastrella di grès sulla quale ho applicato i colori in vari strati trasparenti, uno sopra l’altro, così da definire lentamente i colori fondamentali del dipinto.
Il focus è la geometria delle torri che si contrappone al caos selvaggio della natura. La finitura a resina contribuisce a dare profondità agli strati di colore.

I’ve traveled hundreds of times this path of hill flanked by rows of cypress trees that were there since I was a child. But every time I cross this small road the emotion that comes over me is always the same, the same as many years ago, when I saw for the first time the towers sprout from the rock-hidden from the tops of the cypresses, among tangles of brambles and vines.
To capture this scene I used as a support of stoneware tile on which I applied colors in various transparent layers, one above the other, so as to slowly define the basic colors of the painting.
The focus is on the geometry of the towers as opposed to the wild chaos of nature. The resin finish helps to give depth to the color layers.
